Coleman Whitfield Howard, Jr., 85, of La Porte passed away Thursday December 10, 2009. He was born August 7, 1924 in Canyon, Texas to Margaret and Coleman Howard, Sr. Coleman served as Staff Sergeant of the Army in World War II. He also was a member of Monument Baptist Church and retired from DuPont, as a chemist, in 1985 after 35years. He is survived by his wife Barbara Howard, son Paul Coleman Howard, daughter Ann Hurt and husband Clint, and brother William H. Howard.
Visitation will be held Friday December 11, 2009 at 5PM-8PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday December 12, 2009 at 9AM at the funeral home as well. In lieu of usual remembrances donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
