Gervis Ray Johnson February 28, 1935 - July 20, 2015 Gervis Ray Johnson, 80, passed away on July 20, 2015. He was born on February 28, 1935 to Joseph Johnson and Millian Pitre in Prairie Ronde, Louisiana. He worked in the Louisiana oil fields for 13 years, before working for Brown and Root for over 20 years, where everyone knew him as “FRENCHY”. Survivors include his wife Venita Johnson of LaPorte sons Russell Hickle of LaPorte, Frank Hickle and wife Dana of Baytown, Mitch Johnson and wife June of Round Rock, daughters Jenifer Elkins of LaPorte and Julie Colvin and husband Rick of Middletown, Indiana. He as 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2015 from 5-8pm and services on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10am at Paul U. Lee LaPorte Funeral Home Chapel with committal service to follow at LaPorte Cemetery.
