Obituary of Bettie Williams

Bertha “Bettie” Marie Williams, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Bertha (Schulze) Jeske; husband, William “Bill” Aultman Williams Sr.; sons, Tommy Williams and William Aultman Williams Jr.; brothers, Robert Jeske and Jimmy Jeske; and sister, Laverne Williams. She is survived by her son, John Williams & his wife Joyce; daughters, Diana Urban and Florene Williams; Richard Jeske & his wife JoAnn; sister-in-law, Janice Jeske; grandchildren, Colt Urban, Summer Williams Calhoun, Lance Williams, Cutter Urban, Cody Williams Caffey, and Casey Williams; great-grandchildren, Haley Urban, Payton Calhoun, Cooper Urban, Parker Calhoun, and one on the way. Bettie was born on March 23, 1933 in Priddy, Texas. Over the years, she lived back and forth between Mississippi and Texas and was currently residing in Friendswood. Bettie’s family was her life and she never missed a moment with her children or grandchildren or great grandchildren. She was a fabulous cook and her banana pudding and coconut cream pie would often cause family fights! Bettie was an excellent athlete participating in tennis and basketball and even joined a women’s professional basketball league for one year. Bettie was known for her green thumb and could grow anything. Her endless energy kept her on the go whether it was managing her farm or tending 100 head of cattle. Before Bill passed away, Bettie and he traveled all over the world and returned to Germany to meet some of their distant relatives. Bettie will always be remembered for her laughter and sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation for Bettie will be on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 10:00 am. Pastor John Salminen will be officiating. A Graveside Service is scheduled on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 4:00 pm in Eminence Cemetery in Seminary, Mississippi.
