As she was named, Joy, she delivered joy to all
Born and raised in Malvern, Arkansas to James Leonard and Alma Ernestine Richardson;
she moved to Houston in the early 50’s. When Shell Oil was on strike she met and fell in love with Elmo Kincade at Leon’s La Bamba club in Houston.
They married and moved to LaPorte and later Shoreacres, Texas where they raised their two children.
As her children grew she went back to work in LaPorte for attorney C.L. Pittman and Pfeifer Electric.
She and husband, Elmo lived humbly and funded both of their children’s college educations. They were active members of the Timbercrest Lodge social organization in LaPorte.
Joy was a wonderful, loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and wife. She always remembered fondly helping to raise her little sister Camille (Richardson) Lipe and teaching her brothers, LL and Gene, how to sing harmony around the family piano. She dearly loved her family from Malvern Arkansas and was a devoted daughter and sister; she was number eight of 11 children.
Joy Lea is also survived by her Three Grandchildren Lindsay, Aaron, and Colin, and Great Grandchildren Mercedes, Romero, Penelope, and Jameson; and her siblings Farrell, Clovis, LL (Leonard Lavon), and Camille. Much love and thanks to her helpers Melissa, Rhonda, Susan, and Gail fulfilling her every need.
She professed a gospel of Love, Hugs, and God from Leo Buscaglia to Joel Osteen and shared it with all.
