Obituary of J. Glenn Clarkson

J. Glenn Clarkson, age 78 of Pearland, passed away on March 24, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Minnie (Stevenson) Clarkson. He is survived by his wife, Hattie Clarkson; son, Jim Clarkson & his wife Mary Lynn; daughter, Vickie Wilson & her husband Jim; sisters, Sue Prichard & her husband Bill and Lou Henson & her husband Willie; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Glenn was born on September 21, 1931 in Lubbock, Texas but his career took him and his family to Joliet, Illinois, Decatur, Alabama, and Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Upon retirement, he and Hattie resided in Denton and later Pearland. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and was approaching his 60th wedding anniversary this July with Hattie. Throughout the years, Glenn enjoyed spending time with his family and working around the house. He could often be found tinkering in the garage or working on various projects. He especially loved woodworking or creating anything with his hands. Glenn was a dedicated employee of Amoco Chemicals for more than 38 years. Visitation for Glenn will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 10:00 am with a Funeral Service following at 11:00 am in the Clayton Chapel. A Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 11:00 am at Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
