Obituary of Mario Santos

Mario Santos, age 81, passed away on December 18, 2007. Mario is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucila Santos; one son, Ramon Santos and his wife Normita; two daughters, Maria Phillips and her husband Steven and Rose Marie Sanidad and her husband Edward; one sister, Gloria Santos; and four grandchildren, Kevin & Michelle Phillips and Chelsea & Aaron Santos. Mario was a native of the Philippines. During his life there, he was a member of the Philippine Army. He spent the last 15 years in the Houston area, and was proud to be an American. Mario loved reading, enjoyed riding his bike, and was fond of music, especially operas. He and Lucila enjoyed traveling back and forth between the Philippines and explored various parts of the United States and Hawaii. Mario was an active member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Pearland. He will be lovingly remembered as a good husband, father and friend. A visitation and rosary service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, from 7 PM to 9 PM in the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, 281-485-4446. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2007, at 7 PM, also in the Clayton Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating is Reverend Rodolfo L. Cal-Ortiz.
