Sharon Louise Ridgway January 29, 1949 - January 29, 2013 Sharon Louise Wright Ridgway "64 years ago, an angel was sent by God to walk among us. On her birthday, that angel returned to heaven." Sharon Ridgway was born on January 29, 1949 in San Antonio, TX. She passed into Heaven on January 29, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer. Sharon’s deep Christian faith sustained her throughout her life and brought her comfort and peace as she faced her return to her Heavenly Home. Sharon lived the majority of her life in Pasadena, TX area. She was a 1967 graduate of Sam Rayburn High School and a member of Monument Baptist Church of Deer Park. She worked for Baker Hughes for 34 years until her recent retirement. Among her many joys in life, were gardening and traveling, especially cruising with her beloved family. She was an avid Texans fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her 5 precious grandchildren. As a devoted grandmother, she never missed one of their events. Left to mourn her passing are her parents, Fred and Edith Wright, La Porte, TX, brother Wayne and Jan Wright, Portland, TX, son, Troy and Christina Ridgway, Norman, OK, daughter Tammy (Ridgway) and Janusz Kowalczyk, League City, TX, and grandchildren, Aniston, Linleigh, Aleksander, Lyndon, and Lukasz. Sharon leaves a large group of extended family and friends whose lives have been made better for knowing her. A celebration of her life will be Friday, February 1, 2013 at 1:00PM at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home, 201 S. 3rd St. La Porte, TX. with burial following at La Porte Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that donations be made for pancreatic cancer research: Baylor College of Medicine, C/O Benjamin Musher MD, 1 Baylor Plaza, MS BCM-187, Houston, TX 77030. Sharon Ridgway Memorial Fund should be written in the memo part of the check.
