Obituary of Barbara Jean Rudy

Barbara Jean Rudy November 27, 1929 - March 28, 2018 Barbara was born in Houston, Texas, to Hal and Lily Goodman. She died peacefully in Webster, Texas, surrounded by all three of her children. She is preceded in death by Rev. Arthur Bruce Compton, Sr., husband and father of her children, who died in 1972. She is also preceded by her older Brother: Stoney Goodman, Sister: Edythe Rudy and Niece: Michelle. She is survived by her three children: Arthur Bruce Compton, Jr. and his wife Jeanice, Beth Brady and her husband David, Beverly Lundemo and husband Russ. Her grandchildren: Brandon & Morgan, Alan & Erin, Somer & Drew, Robyn & Justin, John-Michael, Amy, Klynn, Whitney, Tiffany, Liz, Lucrecia and Tessa. Great grandchildren: Delaney, Dylan, Alexander, Penelope, Katherine, Sarah Frances, Alex, Kinsley, Kyle, Taylor, Addison, London, Bella, Shelby and Austin. Husband, Jack Rudy – “Grandpa Jack”. She raised a family that has remained active in the Methodist Church. Her love was for the youth and preschoolers in the church programs where she served alongside her husband, Bruce, who was a Methodist youth pastor until the age of 44 when he lost his life in an auto accident. She continued to show her love for children through the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family had a small church service for her on April 14th before scattering her ashes in bay along with the ashes of her little dog “Bubbie” who had crossed the Rainbow Bridge a year ago.
