Betty was born on February 11, 1937 in Lamesa, Texas and resided in Midland most of her life. Loyal to her roots, she was always a proud Texan. By the time Betty was just 25 years old, she had to bury her first husband then her father, and was left to raise her four children by herself. This caused her to be exceptionally strong as she taught her children poise, grace, and moral values while they were growing up, despite their difficult circumstance. Betty’s wonderful sense of humor helped them through many situations and she was truly a trailblazer for strong women and a model as an excellent provider for her family. She spoke her mind so it was always clear where she stood. Betty was well versed and loved to read. She enjoyed photography and taking pictures of her family. In her spare time she watched the TV series NCIS, solved puzzles, created scrapbooks or traveled. Betty’s grandchildren affectionately called her “Granny”. Deep love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ carried Betty over many obstacles that she conquered with verve and humor. Her radiant soul and fortitude inspired the many lives that she touched to follow in her footsteps.
