Obituary of Goldie Marie Skaggs

Goldie Marie Skaggs September 02, 1926 - July 24, 2017 Goldie Madaraez Petry Skaggs was born in Taplin, West Virginia on September 2, 1926. She moved to Orange, Texas in the summer of 1955; La Porte, Texas in 1960; and retired to Hardin, Texas in 1991. She worked at Matheson Gas Products in La Porte for 30 years. Goldie dearly loved her family and friends. She was an avid bowler, shopper, loved to crochet and enjoyed playing the piano for her church. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 24, 2017 at Baytown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Baytown, Texas. She is now reunited with her loving husband, Milburn Skaggs, of 71 years, her parents Charles and Susie Madaraez and her adoptive parents Willard and Georgia Petry, her brother Charles Madaraez,Jr ,and sisters Julia Wilburn, and Elizabeth Calfee. She will be missed by her son, David Skaggs, daughter Bonnie Hayes and husband Walter, a nephew and several nieces, as well as grandchildren Tammy Heger and husband Mark, Michael Hayes and wife Laura, Kristina Platt and husband Keith, Elizabeth Burkland and husband Mitch, and great grandchildren Brett Platt, Sedona Burkland, Colton Burkland, and Jennifer Platt.
