Frank Ernest Boerner August 29, 1940 - November 13, 2015 Frank Ernest Boerner, 75, passed away Friday at home in La Porte, Texas. Frank was born August 29, 1940 in San Diego, California. He and his family moved to Eden, ID where his father won 160 acres from a homestead lottery and started farming. Frank attended Idaho State College. His professional career included working on diesel highway construction equipment as a Certified Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Idaho and Colorado, opening his own cabinet shop, and finally traveling the country as a flatbed truck driver. Frank was a past District Commander of the United States Power Squadron, District 21 known as ”git’erdone”. He was active member of the Galveston Bay Sail and Power Squadron for the past 14 years. During these years Frank and Janet lived on their boat “Point of View” traveling to the Bahamas, and up and down the Teaxs coast. They shared a love of peregrination and traversed the country in their RV. He was also a member of the Texas Boomers RV Club. Frank was know for his delicious BBQ and was very generous in providing briskets to different events. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of La Porte and enjoyed making breakfasts for the Men's Club meetings. More recently, he became interested in quadcopters and Radio Controlled planes. He was working on his Academy of Model Aeronautics Sporting License. He enjoyed flying at Bayport Aero Club and Texas City RC Club. Frank will also be remembered by family and friends for his quick wit, sense of humor, and smile. He leaves his beloved wife Janet; his brother Bruce and his wife Jackie of Cedar City, UT; brother Clint and his wife Cyndi of Grand Junction CO, and brother Al and his wife Carole of Hurricane, UT. He also leaves his children Michael and wife Lisa of O’Fallon, MO, Lester of Bremerton, WA; Michael of Denver, CO and DeAnn and husband Brian of Thornton, CO. Also surviving are stepchildren Kyle and wife Sye of Santa Fe, Texas; Karen and John of San Leon, Texas; 6 grandchildren; and many friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, December 4th, 10:00AM, at First UMC of La Porte 9601 Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas by Dr. Kevin Gilmore.
