Delton Richard “Doc” Campbell passed away on December 30, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife Arlyn “Susie”; two sons Gregory L. Campbell and his wife Connie, and Richard G. Campbell and his wife Kim; one daughter, Wendy L. Ali and her husband Sam; one sister, Nettie Arlene Rose and her husband Calvin; and six grandchildren, Ashton, Jared, Chase, Cole, and Joshua Campbell, and Jalen Ledger. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Leo Campbell and Willie Cleo Campbell; and two sisters, Hazell Loraine Fisher and Clara Mae McNutt. Delton was better known as Doc to all of his family and friends. He lived in the Pearland area for over 50 years and was a member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion Post. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s. He and Arlyn loved traveling in their travel trailer and enjoyed spending time at their lake house. He experienced many treasured moments with his grandchildren on family vacations. Doc was very handy and could build or fix just about anything. He also served as a volunteer fireman during the 1970s. One of his greatest passions and pastimes was barbequing for his family and friends. After retirement, Doc enjoyed volunteering throughout the community at the VFW Post, American Legion and being a neighborhood handyman for everyone on Ray Street. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, from 6 PM to 8 PM, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, 281-485-4446. A chapel service will by held on Thursday, January 3, 2008, at 3:00 PM, also at Clayton Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Steve O’Donahoe of Grace Community Church and Pastor Sonny Stead.
