Obituary of Anne Ellen Willson

Funeral Service Thursday, Jun 21, 2018 10:00 AM Anne Ellen Willson July 15, 1941 - June 18, 2018 Anne Ellen “Nana” Willson died peacefully with family by her side at home on Monday, June 18th, 2018 in La Porte, Texas at the age of 76. Anne was preceded in death by her Mother Ruby Inez Jenkins, Father Otis (Pop Pop) Jenkins, Daughter Lynda Evans and Larry, all of La Porte, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Derrell Willson; children, Derrell (Cliff) Willson II & Brenda of La Porte, Texas, Patricia Gilliam & Ronnie of Pasadena, Texas, Janet Stiles & Richard of Katy, Texas, Mark Ellison & Becky of Onalaska, Texas; Grandchildren, Derrell (DC) III & Theresa, Jacob & Jami, Brian & Rachel, Brandon & Tandra, Summer & Paul, Fawn & Blake, Melissa & Jeremy, Kristin & John, Blake & Noemi, Carolyn & James; and Great-Grandchildren, Desmond, Kaydence, Aimee, Mason, Jaxson, Jameson, Silus, Wednesday, Monty (Bobby) II, William & Isabelle, Mary, Dezmend, Kristopher, Hannah & Dylan, Mikaela, Harley, Alexander, Benjamin, and Cennleigh, all of whom she loved dearly. Anne was born on July 15th, 1941 in York County, South Carolina, and moved to La Porte, Texas in 1984. A resounding and heartfelt woman, Anne dedicated her life to her family and the well-being of many children through her committed work as a Child Care Director; still referring to them as “her kids” even after so many years had passed. She also loved to see the country with her family over the many years of travel they all enjoyed together. Her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren remember her as a wholesome, steadfast, persistent soul who nurtured them to pursue their passions and consistently encouraged love. The family would also like to thank A-Med Hospital Directors and Staff for their attention, care, and commitment to Anne and her family in her final months; Thanks is never truly enough Visitation will be Wednesday June 20, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at Paul U lee Funeral Home. The service will be Thursday June 21, 2018 at 10:00am in the Paul U lee Funeral Home Chapel with an interment following at Grandview Memorial Park
