Melton Arthur Wolters
August 20, 1951 - June 13, 2014
Melton Arthur Wolters, 62 years old, passed away at home with his family on June 13, 2014 in La Porte, Texas. Melton, born on August 20, 1951, is preceded in death by parents Clarence & Ladine Wolters, Brother Leon and Nephew David.
Melton graduated from the University of Houston Clear Lake and retired from Shell Oil Company after 33 years. He was a member of the Deer Park Masonic Lodge and the Supreme Council 32 degree, Southern Jurisdiction. Melton was an active member and supporter of the
La Porte Livestock Show & Rodeo Association. He was an adventurous outdoorsman who enjoyed working with his livestock, including his Long Horn Cattle and Horses. Hunting and fishing were of great interest to Melton. He served on the La Porte Planning & Zoning Commission, as well as numerous Shell Oil Company sponsored community activities, including their annual Special Olympic Activities. Melton willingly volunteered where he was needed and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by Wife Libbi Sodaro Wolters, Sons Jared (JT) Wolters and Joshua Wolters,Daughter Brandi Wolters, Granddaughters Courtney and Ryann Wolters, Sister Sandra and Husband Bob Ervin, and greatly loved by numerous Nieces, Nephews and Young Adults (Our “Many” Adopted Children).
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014
at 6:00 p.m. at the Lomax Arena.
