Obituary of Orlan Sellers

Orlan “O.J.” Sellers, age 62 of Rosharon, Texas, passed away on July 5, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Ruby (Patrick) Sellers. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Hawkins) Sellers; son, Michael Sellers & his wife Jennifer; daughter, Vicky Sellers; brother, Norman Sellers & his wife Marti; granddaughters, Morgan Sellers; numerous nieces & nephews; and a host of many other family & friends. Orlan was born on September 20, 1947 in Magee, Mississippi and resided in the Houston area since 1975. He proudly served in the United States Marine from 1964-1968 during Vietnam. He received his good conduct medal and worked as a carpenter from 1976-1978 later becaming a millwright. O.J. retired from Farmers Marine and Copperworks after 32 loyal years of service. In his spare time, he loved playing golf, fishing, riding his Harley Davidson, or operating his tractor and jeep. Ruth nicknamed him “My McGyver” and he was truly loved by his entire family and all of his friends. O.J. was a jack of all trades and master of all and was well known and respected by everyone who knew him. A Celebration of Orlan’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Clayton Chapel.
