Obituary of Jack Donald McGuff, Jr

Jack Donald McGuff Jr., 82, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Helen McGuff Sr.; and his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce McGuff.  Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jack McGuff III and wife, Lyn, Jill McGuff, Jon McGuff and wife, Helena; grandchildren, Erin McGuff-Pennington and husband, Shane Pennington, Jay McGuff, Megan McGuff, Emily Averkiades, Caley McGuff; with one great grandchild on the way and a host of other family and dear friends.

Jack graduated from Milby High School before attending the University of Houston where he completed his Bachelor Degree in Architecture.  In 1962, he moved to Pearland where he and Joyce would raise their family.  He was a successful architect for more than 50 years and moved his business to Pearland in 1983.  Jack felt strongly about giving back to his community and was an active member of the Lions Club of Pearland, Lions Club International and the Texas Lions Camp.  He served as the President of the Pearland/Hobby area Chamber of Commerce and was Chairman of the Board in 1988.  Jack was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and looked forward every year to serving as a Judge for the School Art Contest.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Jack will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services for Jack will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 until 6:30 pm with a Memorial Service following beginning at 6:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.
