Obituary of Theresa Cecile Kowalski

Theresa Cecile Kowalski, 84, of Pearland, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Katherine Margaret Bruno and George Madison Fielder; husband of 42 years, Lawrence Alexander Kowalski; brother, Mickey Della Calce; sisters, Caroline Maxwell and Trudy Lee. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Joseph Kowalski and wife, Nellie, John Kowalski; daughters, Mary Hare and husband, Eric, Liz Moore and husband, Larry, Lillian Tubbs and husband, Scott, Katherine Tipton and husband, Colin; sisters, Angie Lyles, Penny Bratton and husband, Frazier, Pat Bush and husband, Buddy; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a host of other friends and family.

Theresa was affectionately known by many names: TK, Tootsie, Granny, Mom, but no matter what you called her, everyone agreed that she was the matriarch of the family. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and a licensed CPA. She also enjoyed professional clowning. As a people person, she never met a stranger, enjoyed singing, and always found a way to have fun. Theresa was strong in her faith and loved her Lord Jesus, hosting a Bible study care group, taking a mission trip to Guatemala and serving as a Missionary to China. She was tenacious and traveled every chance she got. Playing games and riding roller coasters would always bring her joy. Theresa was never afraid to try new things, take on new challenges, or explore new worlds. She loved everybody and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

A visitation and funeral service for Theresa will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Sunday, December 23, 2018. The visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and continue until the service starts at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Brandon Kennard officiating. Interment will take place at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission, Texas, on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 1:00 pm.
