Obituary of Thomas Elisha Baker

On Monday, December 31, 2018, Thomas Elisha Baker, 89, went to be with our Lord in Heaven; surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, six sisters, and son, Wade Baker. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Baker; daughter-in-law, Debbie Baker; sons, Dean and wife, Edra, Gene and wife, Ruth; grandchildren, Laura and husband, Chris, Brent and wife, Jen, Blake and wife, Lisa, Lacey and husband, Sam, Brandon, Brianne, Taryn; great grandchildren, Brynan and wife, Destiny, McKade, Hannah, Landon, Cason, Jett, Jase, Addilyn, Emma, Easton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom was a loving son, brother, husband, dad and PaPaw. He served 2 years in the military and went on to serve 31 years for the Houston Police Department. He was a builder of houses, protector of the law and a great storyteller. Tom and Dorothy loved to travel; they have been to all 50 states, Canada, and Mexico. More than anything, Tom was a devout Christian man who served our Lord daily. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation and funeral service for Tom will take place at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 S. 3^rd Street, La Porte, Texas 77571, on Friday, January 4, 2019. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am and continue until the start of the service at 10:00 am, with Tim King and DJ Dickerson officiating.
