Obituary of Dorothy A. Driessner
Dorothy A. Driessner, 96, was born to eternal life on January 24, 2019 at her home in Pearland, TX. She loved her Savior Jesus and is now worshiping Him in heaven along with her family and friends who have gone before her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Theodora Mueller; husband of 43 years, Herbert E. Driessner; son, Richard Driessner and great granddaughter, Hannah. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ronald Driessner and wife, Penny; Jerry Driessner and wife, Sheron; daughters, Grace Taylor and husband, Rob; Karen Daugherty and husband, Max; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.
Dorothy was born January 5, 1923 in Beaver Dam, WI. She married Pastor Herbert E. Driessner on July 4, 1943 in Mayville, WI and spent her honeymoon traveling to her new home in Otto, Texas, where Pastor Driessner served as a minister of the gospel. In 2011, she relocated to Pearland, TX and became a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church.
Dorothy modeled the life of Jesus with her love, compassion, and servitude to her family and friends, putting everyone’s needs ahead of her own. She has been described as a ray of sunshine as she entered a room wearing her contagious smile and giving heartfelt hugs. Throughout her life, she bloomed wherever she was planted and sowed the seeds of love and friendship everywhere she lived. Dorothy was active in various church ministries such as teaching Sunday School, Braille bible printing, quilting for Lutheran World Relief and working in LWML. Frequently, she would socialize and gather with friends over dessert, playing cards, celebrating birthdays, and spreading her love to those in her presence. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A graveside service will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Serbin, Texas, on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor John Schmidt officiating.
