Obituary of Claire Ann Barnett

Claire Barnett, 2 months, died at 4:20pm April 5, 2019 at Texas Children's Hospital.  She was born to John and Lynn Barnett on January 15, 2019 in Houston, Texas. 

In addition to her parents, Claire is survived by four older siblings: Emily, Rebecca, Thomas, and Michael, all of Pearland, TX; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Karen Siefker of Manvel, TX; paternal Grandmother, "Grammy" Sue Barnett, of Houston, TX; maternal great grandmother Laura Recker of Ottawa, OH; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins: Eddie and Jackie Prim and their sons Jacob Aaron, Joshua, Jacob Lee, and Mark of El Dorado, Arkansas; Jeff and Dana Barnett and their children, Bryan, Caleb, and Joy of Pearland, TX; David and Diana Barnett and their children, Michah, Evelyn, and Noah; RJ and Arlene Radtke and their children, Arianna, Elise, and Raymund of Pearland, TX; Jonathan and Maryann Siefker and their children, Andrew, Jack, and Elizabeth of Medina, OH; Mark and Gwen Abraham and their children, John, Laura, and Robbie of Brunswick, OH; Ralf and Julie Engelmann and their children, Karina and Viviane of Jena, Germany; Jeremy and Katherine Siefker and their children, Emma, Jay, and Grace of Spotsylvania, VA; David and Nancy Degenhardt of Lawton, OK; and Vince and Jenna Petros and their children, Layla, James, and Matthew of Edmond, OK.  Claire was preceded in death by her grandfather, "Pappy" Bryan Barnett, and cousins John Paul Petros and Charlie Siefker.

Although Claire's 80-day life was short, she touched many hearts and was loved greatly.  After a postnatal diagnosis of multiple congenital heart defects, Claire was baptized before her first open heart surgery and anointed before her second.  We thank the whole team at TCH for doing everything they could and extending the life of our brave little fighter.

Visitation will be at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd, Pearland, Texas 77581, on Thursday, April 11th from 5:30-8:00p.m., with a rosary at 6:00. A funeral mass will take place at St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland, TX on Friday April 12th at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Jim Courville as celebrant.   The Rite of Committal will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
