Obituary of Bertha Louise Gossett

Please share a memory of Bertha to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bertha Louise Gossett, 96, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Florence Foster; her husband, Herschel C. Gossett; brother, Henry Foster; and sister, Minnie Freemon.  Left to cherish her memory are her son, James Armstrong and wife, Brenda; daughter, Sherry Stevenson; grandchildren, Chris, Russ, Craig, Jennifer, Ginger, TJ, and Trichelle; twenty great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Bertha was a dedicated and hardworking mother that loved her family dearly.  She worked for many years as a Freight Clerk with the Teamsters Union.  Bertha was a great sports fan and cheered on all the local Odessa sports teams and the Dallas Cowboys.  She enjoyed painting, crafting and dancing in her younger years.  Bertha had a very dry sense of humor and a quick wit.  Her greatest joy though was spending time and celebrating the accomplishments of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Bertha will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Bertha will be held Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.  The graveside service will take place Friday, July 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Bellwood Memorial Park, 8575 Airport Rd., Temple, Texas 76502.
