Evelyn and Lloyd, I am sorry for your lost. I hadn't seen your mom in an extremely long time but I remember that she was nice to me and in fact much nicer than I deserved. I pray she was at peace and that you and your families are too.

Martha Love was an amazing and inspiring leader. Her overriding characteristic was her positive attitude. She was a very warm, kind and helpful person who touched and influenced so many lives during her long and productive career in education. I consider myself blessed to have met Martha and witnessed her in action at Bayshore Elementary School where she was a source of encouragement to students and staff alike.

So sad to hear of Martha’s passing. What a blessing she was to our community and especially the children she nurtured and mentored throughout her career. Our son was one of the many students who benefited from her wisdom. We will always be grateful for her guidance as we navigated an education system with which we were unfamiliar. RIP Martha happily reunited with her beloved husband Bill.

To Martha's family,
It is with great sadness that I learn that my friend Martha has passed away. I have known both Bill and Martha for almost 50 years. Having moved to La Porte in 1970, I had the opportunity as Fire Marshal, to work with Bill, he as a City Commissioner and Martha as a school administrator. They both welcomed me and my family and told me if there was anything they could do for us, to let them know. In all the years I have known them this friendship has never changed. God be wwith you during this very trying time in your lives.

It was my honor to have had Ms. Love as my student teaching Principal at Bayshore! I will never forget my time with her - specifically how if a student came to school without a coat on a cold day, they were sure to leave with one! What a wonderful woman!
