Obituary of Wayne Nance

Allen “Wayne” Nance, 72, of Pearland passed on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.  He was born on February 8, 1947 in Port Arthur, Texas to Daniel Herbert Nance and Bessie Walker.  He was a graduate of Lamar University and had a successful career as an accountant in the Oil and Gas industry.  Preceding Wayne in death are his parents.  Left with cherished memories are his wife of 48 years, Denise Nance; son, Dennis Nance; daughters, Tracey Nance and Rachel Nance McClure-Rocha; brother, Daniel Nance, Jr. and wife, Robin; grandchildren, Maddison McClure, Daniel Rocha and Tristen Shore Heflin as well as many close and loved relatives and friends. 

Wayne was known to all as a kind and selfless man who always put his family first. He was a true provider, who you knew you could always depend on for a hand, a tool, a listening ear or just some simple advice. His Christian faith was very important to him and he demonstrated his love for God by the way he treated others. " Poppers/Poppy" as he was affectionately known by his adoring grandchildren, loved spending time with family and his two schnauzers. He lived a full life and he took joy in simple pleasures and inspired others to do the same.

Pallbearers include Mark Boudreaux, Daniel Nance, Jr., Don Terrell, David Young, Phil Dunning, James Heflin, James Hays, Dennis Nance, Mike Morton, along with honorary pallbearers Tristen Shore Heflin and Daniel Rocha.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Funeral Chapel in Pearland.  A celebration to honor the life of Wayne Nance will be on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM also at Clayton Funeral Home Chapel, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Rev. G. Coby Cagle.
