Obituary of Janet Colleen Chadick

Janet Colleen Chadick, 59, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerrold and Helen Graham, and husband, Cliff Chadick. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Emily Chadick; son, Clifton Chadick; brothers, Jerry, Jeff, and Joel Graham; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Janet loved the Lord and was very active in her church, carrying on a tradition she inherited from her parents. She adored her children and was always their number one fan. After her husband’s untimely death, she threw herself into raising them with double the amount of love and support. She was immensely proud of both Clifton and Emily and always encouraged them to pursue their dreams.

Janet enjoyed cooking, gardening, and entertaining. Friends and family said they thought of her as the glue that held the community together. Janet was a resident of La Porte for over 50 years. In recent years, she enjoyed traveling with her children to far-flung lands. She was a joyful person who shared her many talents with others. She had a soft spot for animals and couldn’t look away when she saw one in need. Her cats Coal, Polar, and Vinnie were rescues. Janet’s kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Janet will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at La Porte Community Church, 202 South 1^st Street, La Porte, Texas 77571. The visitation will be held from 10:30 until 11:30 am with the funeral service following at 11:30 with the Rev. Brian Christen officiating. Interment will take place at La Porte Cemetery in La Porte, Texas.
