Obituary of Maria Consuelo Gonzalez
Please share a memory of Maria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Maria Consuelo Gonzalez, 84, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Esteban and Maria Luna; her loving husband of 57 years, Jose Gonzalez; and sisters, Gloria and Conception Luna. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Arnolfo Gonzalez, Estaben Carlos Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez Jr., George Gonzalez, Javier Gonzalez, Efrain Gonzalez, and Jaime Gonzalez; daughters, Anita Ramirez and Connie Seda; brother, Piedad Luna; sister, Esperanza Luna; twenty grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Maria was a woman of strong faith that believed strongly in helping others especially those less fortunate. She loved being a mother and grandmother and cherished spending time with her family. Maria was an excellent cook; she had no recipes, she cooked by taste and memory. She was an accomplished gardener and loved tending to her garden. She was happiest in the Spring when all the flowers in her garden were in bloom. Each plant represented a worry, a grievance, and at times a prayer. Her garden was more than soil and seeds, it was therapy for a mind often stressed with worry for her family’s well-being. Maria was an active member at St. Helen Catholic Church. For several years, she worked for Lloyd Bentsen Senior’s family and developed a special bond with Mr. Bentsen and his family. Maria and Jose were extremely close to the Bentsen family and were treated like family. She will be forever remembered for her faith in God, strength of character, and unwavering devotion to her family. Maria will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
