Obituary of Petrita Garza Adames

Petrita Garza Adames, 82, of Houston was called home to heaven on Friday, January 31, 2020. She was born on May 23, 1937 in Orange Grove, Texas to Tomas Garza and Teodula Salinas Garza. Preceding Petrita in death are her parents, brothers, Raul and Marcelino Garza and sisters, Maria Rubio and Eloisa Trevino. Left with cherished memories are her beloved husband of 62 years, Alejandro Adames; son, Alejandro Adames, Jr and wife, Alejandra; daughters, Jean Silvas and husband, Abel; Belinda Arreola and husband, Alberto and Debra Resendez and husband, Alfred; brother, Tomas Garza and wife, Zulema; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Petrita was a very generous, kind and loving person who never met a stranger. She made everyone feel special and loved. She greeted everyone with a smile, warm hugs, a kiss and a compliment. Petrita was an elegant and beautiful lady who loved her family and baby kitty whom she treated as family. She loved shopping, diamonds and eating steak and shrimp. Petrita always made sure her nails were done, and she adored red nail polish. She always stashed and hid money in random places. The kids loved that she always gave them “a couple of dollars from her stash.” She referred to her loves as “my sugars”. She loved to bring McDonald’s and Donuts to the house for her loves for breakfast. Petrita’s kind and gentle spirit will be eternally missed, but all can take solace knowing she has begun eternal life next to her Lord and Savior. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Petrita Garza Adames will be at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 9:00 AM and Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 AM.
