Obituary of Teresa Elizabeth Sorena

Teresa Elizabeth Sorena, 63, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Vera Carroll. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 42 years, James Sorena; sons, Joseph A. Sorena and wife, Amanda, James C. Sorena and wife, Katrina, Vincent M. Sorena and wife, Erin; four brothers, sister, Martha Freeman; grandchildren, Sophia, Michael, Angelina and Luca; and a host of other family and dear friends. Teresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She and Jim spent 45 wonderful years together and were never far from each other’s side. Her life changed dramatically when she became a mother and she was immensely proud of her three sons and their accomplishments. Family was everything to Teresa and her four grandchildren were the light of her world. She truly had a servant’s heart and was always looking out for others in need. Teresa was frugal but generous with charity. She had the unique ability to love and care for everyone with ease; whether she had just met you or had known you her entire life. Teresa loved adventure and enjoyed traveling the world with Jim. She took great pride in working side by side with Jim as a legal assistant at their law practice. Teresa was often times referred to as the “brains of the operation.” She was meticulous, precise, and always made sure that things were exactly right. Teresa was honest to a fault and was strong both mentally and physically with moral clarity. Her laughter could fill a room and she saw beauty in everything around her. Teresa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Teresa’s honor to the charity of your choice. Services for Teresa will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm with the Memorial service taking place at 2:00 pm with Pastor John Mark Benson officiating. A service in California is being scheduled for the near future with more information to follow.
