Obituary of Florine Bachmeyer

Florine Bachmeyer, 92, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Adelheide Pacher. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 72 years, George W. Bachmeyer; sons, Lonnie G. Bachmeyer and wife, Pat, Gary W. Bachmeyer; daughters, Marlene Smith and husband, P.J., Karen Locke and husband, Randy; sisters, Delores Cass and Addie Koy; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Florine was born in Sealy Texas and graduated from Sealy High School. After graduation, she and her best friend Doris moved to Houston. Florine got her first job and shortly after met the love of her life at a dance in 1946. George and Florine married in 1947 and never left each other’s side. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mother and sister. Florine believed strongly in all of her children learning to swim and walked them to lessons. She came from an era where it was extremely important to her that she cooked three hot meals a day for her family. Florine enjoyed gardening flowers and fresh vegetables. She was an accomplished seamstress and sewed many of her daughter’s dresses and son’s shirts. Florine cherished spending time with her family and loved when the family could get together for special events and the holidays. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Florine’s honor to St. Helen Catholic Church to the attention of the School Education Building Fund. The visitation and Rosary for Florine will be held Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation will be held from 2:00 until 5:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place Monday, February 10, 2020 at 10:30 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581 with Father Jose Alonso officiating. Interment will take place at Sealy Cemetery in Sealy, Texas.
