Obituary of Michael Joseph King, Sr

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael “Mike” Joseph King Sr., 63, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020. He is preceded in death by his father, William Richard King Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Deloris King; his loving wife of 46 years, Karen King; sons, Michael King Jr. and wife, Kimberly, Jason King, Kurt King, Timothy King and wife, Leah; brothers, Rick and Lynn King; sisters, Donna Meller and Brenda King; grandchildren, Blake, Kaleb, Joseph, Tyler, Mikinly, Kylee and Kylan; and a host of other family and dear friends. Mike was a wonderful husband, father, father-in law, grandfather and son that loved his mother more than any son ever could. He was a wonderful provider for his family and retired after many years of service at B F Goodrich, Ethyl and Lubrizol. Mike left behind many great co-workers and dear friends. He loved bowling, softball, baseball and cheering on his hometown favorites, the ASTROS and TEXANS. Mike wanted to continue traveling the world and he did. He went to work a year later at San Jacinto College (in 2017), he finally found what he absolutely LOVED - being an instructor to young students who wanted to learn what he had always done. He leaves behind many students that he so loved. Mike always had e-mails from his students stating that he was the best instructor that they had ever had. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy. Everyone that knew him liked or fell in love with him. To many he was a best friend, a great listener, a shoulder to cry on, a 2nd father to many, the best mentor one could for. He took in 10 exchange students from different parts of the world and Mike became a father figure to them. He loved going to Mbor Africa for missionary work; where he served several times. He was a man of honor to all that knew him. He was ready to give the shirt off of his back; NEVER hesitating to give to those in need. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
