Dorothy Marie Renfro (Dot Medearis), 66, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 at her residence in Rosharon, Texas. She was born in Houston, Texas on October 2, 1953 to Ralph Renfro and Willie Ann Burke Renfro. Dorothy was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother (Nanee), and friend. She was a long-time resident of Pearland, Texas. At a young age, Dorothy began her journey as a very successful self-made businessowner and entrepreneur. She started with JM’s General Contractors construction company and then expanded into a chain of Jim Dandy’s gas station/convenience stores, Sunshine garden center, American Eagle Mini Storage, became a franchisee for Wendy’s Old Fashion Hamburgers, and finally ended her legacy with Dos Hermanos Mexican Kitchen and Cantina. She made sure that her sons were always around and involved in the family businesses from a very young age. She took those opportunities to pass down her business knowledge to both her sons, so they could one day own their own businesses too. She had a huge heart and went out of her way to make sure her family, friends, and employees were always taken care of. She loved antiquing and collected costume jewelry. Dorothy loved the outdoors and in her younger years could always be found working in her garden, laying by the pool, at the beach, or on a boat fishing/cruising. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her sons and Nanee to her grand-daughters. Dorothy is survived by her sons: Brian Medearis, and wife Kayleigh, Brent Medearis, and wife Theresa. She is also survived by her sisters; Peggy Bryant, and husband Johnny, Debbie Pena, grand-daughters; Kailey, Bryleigh, and Macie, and many other family members and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, brother, Ralph Renfro, Jr., and sisters, Rita Traylor and Sherry Schoen. The family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.
