Obituary of Eugene Francis Beaupre
Please share a memory of Eugene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eugene “Gene” Francis Beaupre, 57 of Pearland, Texas, passed away at his home on September 19, 2010, after a frustrating and exhausting fight with cancer. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and was married to Deborah, his high school sweetheart, for over 38 years. Together with their sons, they moved to Texas in 1978 and enjoyed a life filled with family, love, happiness, and adventure.
Gene and Deborah loved to travel whenever they could to places such as Mexico, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, Hawaii, and numerous locations throughout the United States. Gene was affectionately known to his grandchildren as “ Pepe ”. He was a great leader and mentor that never allowed emotions to cloud his judgment. He listened intently and gave wise council to countless friends and family – moving many to look towards him for guidance and direction. Gene had a special way with humor, often using practical jokes or doing something unexpected to lighten up a stressful situation. He somehow managed to leave you with a smile on your face during times when it was least expected. Gene battled his illness with great courage and selflessness, and one of his final wishes was to see his mother in Connecticut one last time. His wish was granted by innovative family members and modern technology via a video chat on the Friday before he passed away. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be greatly missed by many. His life will serve as an inspiration and example to all that knew and loved him.
Gene is survived by his wife Deborah Beaupre; his sons: Christopher Beaupre and wife Angela, Michael Beaupre and wife Katja; his five grandchildren: Chase, Kaitlyn, Emily, Melanie, and Josie; his mother, Geraldine Beaupre; two brothers: James Beaupre and wife Alice and Ronald Beaupre; two sisters: Elaine Daly and husband Kieran, Susan Ehlers and husband Earl; his mother-in-law Mary Georgini and sister-in-law Brenda Smith and Ed; He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin Beaupre and brother, Philip Beaupre.
A Memorial Service for Gene will be held at Clayton Funeral Home at 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581 on Sunday, September 26th at 2:00 in the afternoon. Donations may be made in his honor to http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/genebeaupre or the cancer research fund of your choice.
