Cousin Jack - my best memories of days with Jack (I always knew him as "Jad") was when I was in junior high and we would go over to his parents house and swim in their pool with him, Jon and Jill. In later years, we would see he and his family at the Pearland football games as we are still avid fans and go to all of the games. I was so shocked to read about Jack's passing, just reading it in the Journal last night; unfortunately the obituaries come a week or two too late to know it has happened. My thoughts go out to the entire family.
Love,
Your cousin Glendine Deisch Bankston

I will always remember getting to say hi to Jack as soon as he was done with his raquetball games at LA fitness! He always had a smile on his face and always gave the best hugs! You will truly be missed. I always loved hearing how much Lyn whole heartedly loved him to pieces. You were such a wonderful, friendly, and caring man. You will be missed.
Love,
Flo

I am grateful to our Lord that Jack, my trumpeter, no longer suffers from the agony of cancer, that killed so many of my family. It is a dreadful disease that has been only magnified by this horrible Covid-19.
Love to all who loved Jack

From Richard & Sherry Stockwell-Tarrer:
I've known Jad since he opened his CPA practice in Pearland, and we became "friendly competitors". Over the years, Jad has been the consumate professional in our field of business. In recent years we grew closer within our local band of "Ancient Athletes of Raquetball"...a love-fest of old guys beating up on each other, believing we're still in our 20's. Of course, Jack was one of the best, and he will be profoundly missed.
Sadly, Jack is one of five of our close friends who have been lost to cancer in the recent past. One was George Gartner, also in our group, and Jack's nemisis on the court. I pray that they meet again, on God's Court, and will save a spot for the rest of us.

Jad and I met through tennis. He and I both had part time jobs in high school working at the tennis shop at Golfcrest Country Club. When the courts weren't busy, we would go out and hit a few balls around. I was on the PHS tennis team. Jad was busy with band, but he liked tennis, and we had some pretty good matches against each other. He used to call me "Rizz." He graduated high school a couple of years ahead of me, but eventually, I ended up at the University of Texas at the same time her was there, where we would still occasionally get together and play some tennis. Jad had a quick wit and enjoyed teasing me. He was fun and easy to be around, and always kind. We lost touch until years later, my husband, Brian, passed away and I returned to Pearland. Jad helped me set up my estate planning documents for my children. I also had the pleasure of meeting Lyn during the years that followed. I am truly sorry to hear of his passing. I know the pain of losing a partner too young. My love and prayers are with all of you.

I meet Jack in 2011 as I was learning to play the game of racquetball at L A Fitness. I had been hitting the ball for a few months and thought that with my background of almost 30 years in tennis I could learn this game easily. I saw this guy hitting by himself at the time and ask if I could hit with him, well after a few shots I was ready for the big leagues. He was a perfect gentleman and without a word commenced to thrash me like a bad beginner.
Since that time, he and I played several years and we became close friends and rivals. Jack taught me patience and character on the court. Through the years he also impressed my girlfriend Tracey and was a perfect gentleman and Tracey grew very fond of our relationship and she would talk food with Jack and bring the guys egg rolls and a few other small snacks. Jack was the kind of friend that anyone would love to have. He was my most aggressive adversary on the court, and he would always congratulate and shake hands when he lost, which was not very often. Tracey and I will miss him dearly, our lives will forever be changed thanks to him. We love you Jack and pray for his lovely and kind wife Lyn and family! Rest easy my fiend you and George can play every day together now!
We Love you always, Tracey and Pat

My family and I met Jack as a result of tragedy and he was such a warm and bright person to do business with. During each of our meetings he would always crack a smile here and there and take time to ask how myself and the rest of the family were doing. He will surely be missed. Sincerest condolences from the Ekpanya family.

I am very saddened to hear of Jack's passing. (I don't know why, but I always called him Jack, not Jad.) My sympathies go out to Lyn, their kids, and the rest of the family. I know they will miss him so much.
I met Jack in 6th grade, and we were friends throughout those Pearland school years. Our last names both started with M, so in 6th grade, when teachers put their students in alphabetical order, we were always seated by each other. Jack always found something to tease me about, and I teased him right back.
We dated a bit in high school. I remember when Jack and Jon double dated with my sister Marsha and me--funny story--and Jack took me, in 10th grade, to my first rock concert: Edgar Winter!!! But mostly we were just good friends who shared hours each day with each other because we were always in the same classes.
In our senior year, Jack was PHS band president, and I was the drum major, so we shared a lot of adventures that year. Then, unfortunately, we went off to college on our separate paths and lost touch.
I last saw Jack a few years ago at our high school reunion, where I was fortunate enough to meet his lovely wife and to spend the evening sitting with them at their table.
When I think of Jack, I think of his laugh and his smile, his confidence, his intelligence, and his gentleness. I can't believe he is gone so soon, but I am so glad I knew him, and I truly do wish comfort and blessings upon his family. Pam Millsap, PHS Class of 1976

Jack was my financial advisor, my tax accountant and a man of high integrity. I met Jack nine years ago during a very challenging time in my life. Jack was very supportive and provided excellent advice that helped guide me through the tough days following the death of my first wife. I will miss his professional advice and counsel, but most of all, I will miss him.

Jad was one of the first people I met when my wife, Judy, and I started our real estate business in Pearland. He made sure that I was connected to the community by inviting me to his Rotary club, his country club and his home. And Jad introduced me to his amazing circle of friends. I was privileged to know him.

My heart is broken. Jad was one of the smartest guys I knew. He always asked those challenging question and when he spoke you listened. He had a great sense of humor and was so easy to be around. I know this is such a difficult time for you but know that Freddie and I have you and the family in our prayers. If there is anything we can do please let us know.
