Obituary of Cecilia Dorothy Ann Leonard

Cecilia Dorothy Ann Nichols Leonard, 92, went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2020. She is preceded in death by her father, James Nichols, mother, Julia Czerwinski, son, Richard Leonard, and sister, Tillie Nichols. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, of 72 years, Frank Leonard; son, Michael Leonard; daughters, Susan Davis, Pamella Rose Harger, and Connie Pepin and husband, Arne; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of many other family and friends. All who were fortunate enough to meet “Saint Cecilia” were drawn to her loving spirit. She was always quick to share a smile, a big hug and never missed the opportunity to uplift anyone and everyone. Her faith in and love for Jesus was solid, and the captivating light in her soul shined bright as a result. Cecilia so enjoyed going to church to worship her Lord and Savior. She loved Frank fiercely. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild are the culmination of her life’s work and were always the greatest treasures of her heart. Cecilia loved being a full-time homemaker and raising her five children. She cherished every opportunity that the family could get together for celebrations of any kind. Cecilia was intensely proud of her country and felt very blessed to be living in the United States of America. She loved the American Flag, the US Navy Blue Angels, all of the soldiers who protect & defend our freedoms and she would get so excited at every July 4th celebration. Cecilia loved music and dancing, especially big band swing, the fox trot and truckin’. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing and harmonize. Cecilia loved to laugh. She had a full-on belly laugh and loved to watch the I Love Lucy show on television. She enjoyed working cross word puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune with Frank. Her vocabulary and ability to spell was incredible. She enjoyed playing penny and nickel slot machines. There was something about the sound of the coins hitting the metal “pay out” trough that made her as giddy as a little kid. Cecilia loved life and always did her best to live it to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services for Cecilia will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas, 77581. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, and a Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 pm, with Chaplain, Rogers Thompson officiating.
