Obituary of Troy Dean Summers

Troy Dean Summers, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Eula Summers; twin brother Roy Summers and granddaughter, Brenda Joyce Summers. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Valerie Turk and husband, Jerry, Jacob Lucas and soon to be wife, Haley Holder, and Michael Page Summers; two grandchildren, one great granddaughter, four sisters, and a host of other family and dear friends. Troy served his country proudly by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps and having served a tour in Vietnam. After his enlistment he enjoyed competitive shooting and his biggest love was racing sprint cars. Troy was an excellent teacher and mentor that instilled a strong sense of values and determination in all of his children. He had an iron fist but a loving and generous heart to those in need. Troy believed strongly in building strong relationships and loved everyone he knew. He was a devoted and loving dad, grandpa, and great grandpa. Troy will be missed by all and never forgotten. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, August 28, 2020 at 10:15 am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038.
