Obituary of Grace Ponce Guerrero

Grace Ponce Guerrero, 70, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Perez and Felisitas Vargas Ponce; husband, Victor Guerrero; son, Victor Marcus Guerrero; and brother, Joe Louis Ponce. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amanda Guerrero and husband, Dario; brother, Tony Ponce and wife, Isa; sister, Genny Ponce; grandchildren, Julia, Noah, Seth, Emma, Airys, Warren, and Charlotte; and a host of many other family and friends. Grace was born in Alvin on January 7, 1950 and graduated from Pearland High School. A longtime resident of Pearland, she had a successful career as an administrative secretary in pediatric and adult cardiology for more than 25 years in the Medical Center. Grace greatest joy was her family and especially her grandchildren. She would teach them all her mother’s recipes for tamales and bunuelos that she would make every Christmas and New Years. Grace enjoyed crocheting, making blankets and pillows for the grandchildren. Her sewing expertise even translated into doing alterations for friends of hers from her church. Grace enjoyed watching her novelas and Lifetime movies. She found her greatest joy in having her grandkids over for sleepovers, dinner, movies, cooking or sewing lessons or just being together. Grace will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services for Grace will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The visitation and will take place Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
