Dorothy Baker, 88, passed away Saturday April 10th, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. and Social Morrell Dominy; loving husband of 68 years, Thomas Baker; son, Wade Baker; brothers Elray Dominy, J. B. Dominy; and sister Jewel Dominy Durham. Left to cherish her memory are daughter-in-law, Debbie Baker; sons Dean Baker and wife Edra, Gene Baker and wife Ruth; grandchildren Laura and husband Chris, Brent and wife Jen, Blake and wife Lisa, Lacey and husband Sam, Brandon, Brianne, and Taryn; great-grandchildren Brynan and wife Destiny, McKade, Hannah, Landon, Cason, Jett, Jase, Addilyn, Emma, and Easton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a devout Christian who genuinely loved the Lord. She read and studied the word of God daily. Dorothy was known as the Christian Matriarch of her family. She had the gift of giving, and every gift she gave was truly from the heart. Dorothy loved to travel. She was blessed to have travelled to all fifty states, Canada, and Mexico. She never met a stranger and made friends just about everywhere she went. Dorothy also loved to cook and was recognized as the best cook in the Baker family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation and Funeral service for Dorothy will take place at the Clayton Funeral Home 201 S 3rd St., LaPorte, Texas 77571, on Wednesday April 21st, 2021. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue till the start of the service at 11:00 am with Tim King and DJ Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, Texas.
