Obituary of Carl "Rudy" Andrew Strong

Carl “Rudy” Andrew Strong passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents Marshall and Josephine Strong; and brother-in-law Lonnie Dupont. Left to cherish Rudy’s memory are his loving wife, of 12 years Lucy Strong; sons Toby Grover and wife Shay, Quinton Wilson and wife Delana, Larry Grover; daughter Shanae Dunmore and husband Karl; sisters Cathy Strong Greeson and husband James Jr., Claire Strong Dupont, Marsha Strong; grandchildren Samareya, Tre’, Karinae, ZaZa, Jerimiah, Anabelle, Isabelle, Quinton, Kylie; nephews James Greeson, Richard and Michael Dupont; niece Dana Greeson; five great nephews and three great nieces; sister-in-laws Zelma Hill, Alice Johns and husband Nick, Vonda Chatman; brother-in-law David Hill and wife Dina, and a host of other dear family and friends. Rudy was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family very much. He was an extremely hard worker and wonderful provider for his family. Rudy had a servant’s heart and was always putting others needs before his own. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking his boat out, and working on his truck. His children knew him as their “Pops” and he was affectionately known by his grandchildren as their “Paw Paw”. Rudy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service for Rudy will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 11:00 am, at Christ the King Church, 705 Main St., in Simmersport, Louisiana.
