Obituary of Evelyn Ruth Knebel

Evelyn Ruth Knebel, 79, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lillie Westfahl; and son, Thomas E. Knebel Sr. Left to cherish Evelyn’s memory are her loving husband, Larry Edward Knebel; daughter-in-law, Mesha Blalock; brothers, Ronny Westfahl and wife, Mary, Charlie Westfahl and wife, Elaine; sisters Helen Stolle, Brenda Vasut and husband, Richard; grandchildren Savannah Knebel, T.J. Knebel, and a host of other dear family and friends. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time spent with her family. She was married to the love of her life for many years. She grew up on a farm. Where, from an early age, growing their own food and making their own clothes was the norm for Evelyn. An extremely strong work ethic was instilled in her. Evelyn grew into a very resilient woman who was also strong in her faith. She beat Thyroid and Lymphoma Cancer at different times. She took on the treatments with strength and great faith. Evelyn was always kind and gracious and she loved meeting new people. She never met a stranger. Evelyn and Larry enjoyed bowling in a league together for many years. Evelyn was also a big Houston Rockets fan and enjoyed cheering on her team! In her spare time Evelyn enjoyed gardening and painting. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Evelyn loved watching “Let’s make a Deal”. She was always an extremely loving person and spending time with her family was very important to her. Evelyn was affectionately known as “Grandma”. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
