Fred Ekow Wilberforce, 62 years passed on Friday August 13th, 2021, at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Fred was born on July 17th, 1959, in Kumasi, Ghana to the late Roy Buah and Madam Esther Amo (Still living). At a tender age of four he came to leave with his grandparents at Fantse Nyankumasi were he started his early childhood education. After completion of high school, he left for Tema to leave with his sister to continue his education. He education himself at Accra Polytechnic and finally to the University of Cape Coast, all in Ghana. He worked with many clearing and forwarding companies in Ghana before he finally opened his own Clearing and forwarding Company – Rockliner International Inc. Fred met and married his dear wife Suzzy traditionally as custom demands and later in 2008 had their church wedding in Ghana. In 1993, Fred immigrated to America. While here, he enrolled at Clark University-Massachusetts, where he graduated with MSc in Information Technology. He worked with many companies in different rolls in Worcester of which AstraZeneca was the last before moving to Houston, Texas. In 2012 Fred moved from Worcester Ma to Houston TX with his wife and family to pursue his dreams. His first job since arriving in Houston was with Powell Industries, which he held till he was taken on June 16th, 2019. Fred was a devoted Christian since childhood. In Houston he fellowshipped with the Church of Pentecost Almeda Assembly with his family. As somebody who loved music, he joined the music team where he played both the keyboard and guitar, making sure the sound and all instruments are set-up and functioning properly before every church service and event both at the local and district levels. Due to his dedication, he was later made the head of the audio-visual team. He also served on the building committee as the chair for a period. Fred have always loved people and always want to always see others happy even to his own discomfort. What makes him most happy is to see others happy. He is the one who will always approach you, introduce himself and ask if there is something he can do to help. He is sure to leave you with a joke or something to think or laugh about. Fred was a staunch supporter of Chelsea football Club. He loved soccer so much that , every Television in the house must be on whenever Chelsea or any other rival team is playing so he can monitor them well and discuss with friends. He will wake up his friends and sons to watch with him wherever they are. He was a loving and caring person, a devoted husband, father, and friend to all he came across. Fred was a very principled and disciplined individual who held the believe that a good name is always better than all the riches in the world. With this as a guiding principle, he does not mince word when it comes to speaking his mind on issues and this, he did till his last day. Meeting Fred once means remembering him forever. This principle earned him many awards throughout his working life. Fred will be dearly missed by Family, loved ones, friends, the Church and the Ghanaian community.
