Obituary
Obituary of David Todd LeLeux
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David Todd LeLeux was born on December 25, 1954 to Efton John (E.J.) and Betty Frances Moon LeLeux. He passed away on September 10, 2021.
David Todd is survived by his wife, Donna, and his beloved and adored children, (the only two people he loved more than Donna...and that is saying a lot) Zachariah Ross LeLeux and Elijah Jake (E.J.) LeLeux. Most people would include Zach’s wife in the sentence above, but Hannah Mishell LeLeux, the mother of David Todd’s “Brutally Cute” grandson, Efton Gene LeLeux, deserves her own sentence because she was renamed “The Favorite Child.”
David Todd is survived by his beloved father E.J. LeLeux and his cherished only sibling, Marla Kay LeLeux Kappus and her husband, David Wayne Kappus (retired Navy SEAL or as David said, the reason he had to always be nice to his sister was because “she has control of the button to activate her Navy SEAL!”)
David is survived by his two best friends, David Malone along with Kandy Kole- for whom he was always grateful because, “someone needs to watch after that man!!” and Drew Tiner and wife Christine Tiner for whom he was also grateful because, “Drew married the smartest woman I’ve ever met and God knows Drew had to marry someone smarter than him to keep him out of trouble!!” and their son, Trenton.
David Todd is also survived by what he affectionately called “The 57th Airborne Battalion”- Donna’s seven sisters and brothers, twenty nieces and nephews and seventeen great nieces and nephews. Debra and Chris Mapp, Diane and Cliff Hopkins, Denise and Mark Miertschin, Dawn Woolsey (Donna’s twin or as David said..the only conjoined twins separated at birth) and Dawn’s only child, Colton Martin, wife Samantha and the beloved Hailey and Asher, who David renamed “MacGyver,” David and Mayra Walters, Darrell Walters and Daniel Walters. He was always amazed by Donna’s siblings “you couldn’t meet eight siblings who were all so different, but I really like them all.”
David Todd is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Janet and Raymond David, their children, Ray and Lisa and many other cousins, including Tim Moon...to whom he referred as the “eye candy I used when I was young to meet pretty girls.”
David is also survived by “The Group,” the neighbors he adored. “The Group Leader” Jamie and her husband, Vidal Espinosa, Amber and Matt Hernandez, Noe Perez, Travis Mapp, and Sharon Enos.
And finally, David Todd is survived by too many friends to list, but he loved all of “his attorneys” who stood in a very long line to protect him from that “little, cute but mean red-headed lawyer.”
The LeLeux Family would like to extend their gratitude to Alexa Smith and Christian Cardenas for their support and love during this difficult time, and would also like to thank pallbearers: Travis Mapp, Matt Hernandez, Noe Perez, Vidal Espinosa, Colton Martin, and Christian Cardenas.
