Obituary of Kevin "Andy" Dalmolin

Please share a memory of Kevin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Andy Dalmolin of Manvel, TX left this world on September 15, 2021, at the age of 65. While he left this earthly world too soon, he touched the hearts of many. Andy was born to Carle and Donna Dalmolin on August 1, 1956. Andy was blessed with two daughters, Kandice and Kristyn. He went on to meet the love of his life Starla, she had a daughter, Amanda, and the family proudly became known as “Andy and his girls”. He started a lifelong career in HVAC and had the opportunity to work along-side his best friend, Rex Jones, for decades. Andy was a man of many titles; most proud being Husband, Father and Pa to Mila, Luca, Kylo and Ezekiel. Though he earned the title “Pa” last, he became “Pa” to so many, and it was his greatest joy. Family was always a big part of Andy’s life beginning as a child. He was the oldest of four children and lived just down the road from his Pa and Nona and numerous relatives. Nearly all of Andy’s childhood stories include getting into trouble, having fun, and spending time with his siblings and cousins. Andy took great pride in being from Manvel. One of his favorite sayings was, “I only got 300 yards away from where I grew up.” He was also “Coach Andy” for so many lucky people. His first coaching experience came as an 18-year- old for his younger brother’s baseball team. He took Kenny’s team to the Championship and won! This was not an uncommon experience. Coach Andy had a knack for taking a bunch of rag tag kids and turning them into a team. His philosophy for coaching was to teach the fundamentals, but also used sports as a metaphor for living a good life. He went on to coach baseball for years before he had kids of his own. Then when Kandice and Kristyn wanted to play soccer, Andy learned the fundamentals of a sport he had no familiarity with so he could continue to be a guiding force in his daughters’ and other children’s lives. As most know, Andy was a man of great faith. He was a member of Crosspoint Church, serving alongside Starla as a member of the Dream Team. He was passionate about sharing his belief in Jesus Christ with others, having long discussions about being a Godly man, and truly living out his faith. His mission trip to Guatemala with his brother, Kenny with Living Water was one of his most impactful experiences and encouraged others to listen to God’s calling and give selflessly. Andy also had many interests he loved to share with others, especially over a nice, cold craft beer. His Italian heritage was a great source of pride. He got a chance to visit Italy, where he spent time with extended family and saw the small towns where his grandparents grew up before immigrating to the United States. Andy also loved gardening and was delighted to share his abundant harvests with all. Whether it was grilling a feast, making the Dalmolin Family gnocchi recipe and sauerkraut, or enjoying a meal out with loved ones Andy enjoyed food and fellowship. Andy is survived by his dad (Carle), wife (Starla), daughters and their spouses, grandchildren, his siblings (Carla, Kenny and Keith) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. His big smile and even bigger heart will forever be missed by all who knew him. The outpouring of love to the family during this difficult time is a testament to the kind of man Andy was. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Andy Dalmolin to Crosspoint Church.
