Obituary of Samar Kumar Mukherjee

Samar Kumar Mukherjee, 74, of Richmond Texas passed away Thursday, September 23rd. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Shailandra K. and Ranu Chatterjee; brother, Sreekumar Mukherjee; and sister Sunanda Bhattacharjee. Left to cherish Samar’s memory are his wife of 48 years, Shikha Mukherjee; son, Saikat Mukherjee; daughter, Kaya Mukherjee; brother, Sujit K. Mukherjee; Sister, Sandya Bhattacherjee; grandchild, Anjali Renee Mukherjee; and a host of many other family and friends. Samar was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, brother, and dear friend to many. He enjoyed many scholarly pursuits and viewed learning as a lifelong journey. Samar believed there was always something new to learn. Once Samar chose to pursue something new, he would work hard until he mastered it. His love for learning lead him to become a chess champion, mathematician, an excellent debater, and a master gardener. You could count on Samar to always work hard and meet any challenge with integrity. His honesty, friendly demeanor, and wisdom will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
