Obituary of Adolph "Jake" Herman Schumann

Adolph “Jake” Herman Schumann, 92, passed away Wednesday, December 15th, 2021. Jake is preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Nettie Schumann; daughter, Leona Kay Diehl; brothers Chester Schumann, Lawrence Schumann and Carl Schumann and sister, Margaret Brown. Left to cherish Jake’s memory are, his beloved wife of 72 years Geneva Schumann; son, Michael Schumann; daughter, Sharon Barajas and husband Al; nephew, Lawrence “Sunny” Schumann; grandchildren, Joanna, Charlotte, Krystal, and Jake; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews and a host of many other dear family and friends. Jake was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He loved all his family and centered his life around them. Jake was always known as a hard worker and a wonderful provider for his family. He worked in the elevator/escalator industry at Otis Elevator and the IUEC Local 31 for over 50 years. The great outdoors held a special place in Jake’s heart. Ranching, fishing and especially hunting were some of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed watching sports especially football. Jake will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services for Jake will be held on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021, at Clayton Funeral Home. (5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas, 77581) A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am, with the funeral service beginning at 11 am. Interment will follow at SouthPark cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
