Frances Jean (Wise) Parker, 92, passed away on January 17th, 2022. Jean was a resident of Colonial Oaks at Pearland since 2018. Jean is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Francis (Frank) M. Parker of Robstown, Texas. Frank and Jean were long time members of First United Methodist Church in Robstown. Jean is also preceded by her parents, Earnest and Elsie (Hercek) Wise of Austwell / Ingelside, her four brothers: John B. Wise and Roy Wise of Austwell, Clyde Wise of Ingleside, and Harvey Wise of Tivoli, as well as her sister Merle (Wise) Putman of Robstown. Jean is survived by her sons, Richard M. Parker and his wife Robin Parker of Brookside Village, Marshall L. Parker of North Richland Hills, and daughter Diana (Parker) Vineyard, and her husband Gary Vineyard of Dallas, as well as her grandson Michael P. Parker, his wife Carrie Parker, and their three children: Henry, Samuel, and Fiona, of Alvin. She is also survived by one brother, Glenn Wise of Port Lavaca, one sister, Dorothy (Wise) Wilson of Ingleside, and one sister-in-law, Deanie (Glover) Wise of Tivoli. Jean grew up in the rural farming community of Austwell, Texas. She graduated as Salutatorian from Austwell High School, and wanted to study nursing. Jean moved to Robstown, Texas in the late 1940’s and began working as a telephone operator for General Telephone and Electronics (now Verizon Communications). She had one of the kindest and caring voices on the other end of a telephone line when she was connecting the callers to their party. She continued up the communications ladder to the position of Supervisor of the Repair Department for most of South Texas and retired after 35 years of service. Jean then went to work for Value Bank Texas in Corpus Christi for another 19 years as the Call Center Operator and Security monitor for the Bank. Jean retired again at the age of 82. Ms. Jean, as she was frequently called by her friends and co-workers, was loved and admired and was known for her very strong and honest work ethics. She was a strong, beautiful, quiet, and very gracious Lady and will be missed by her family and many, many friends. Cremation is being handled by Clayton Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Saturday January 29th, 2022 at Grace United Methodist Church in Calallen (Corpus Christi), Texas at 1:00 pm. Final internment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown will be at a later date In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Frances Jean Parker.
