Betty Waters, 94, of LaPorte passed away on Tuesday February 8, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Lee and Mildred Christy Travis, husband, Clinton Leon Waters, and brother Jimmie Travis and wife Elizabeth. Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her daughter, Leona Templet and husband Mack, son David Waters and wife Denise; grandchildren, Leanne, Laurie, Kristin, and Ian; great grandchildren, Anna, Connor, Kinley, Kasen, Macie, Karlie, and Barrett; and a host of other family and dear friends. Betty was born and raised in LaPorte. She married Clinton Leon Waters, the love of her life on September 12, 1947. They were happily married for 72 years. Betty worked as the City Secretary of LaPorte for many years. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. Betty was committed to her family and loved them dearly. One of her great joys in life was singing in the Church Choir. In her spare time, you would find Betty sewing and crafting. She was also an avid gardener and loved growing and tending to her flowers. Betty will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Services for Betty will be held Tuesday February 15, at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 S. 3rd street, in LaPorte, Texas. Visitation 10:00 to 11:00 am and service at 11:00 with DJ Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena.
