Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary (Dusty) Lain Bickford, age 62, went to be with Our Lord, December 9, 2010. She was born on March 5, 1948 in Texarkana, Arkansas to William Murray Lain and Daris McWilliams Lain. When Dusty was a child, her father worked in the oil field. Her family traveled extensively throughout the United States until she was in the 9th grade. She lived in numerous states and had many opportunities to see our beautiful country. She graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1966 and married Cecil A. Bickford after high school. Cecil and Dusty had the same birthday, just a couple of years apart. Cecil gave Dusty the opportunity to be the creative individual she was destined to be. Their son Robert was their only child. Dusty and Cecil were involved in Little League and everything else Robert was involved in. Dusty was a team mom for Pearland Little League Championship teams. They supported the Pearland Area Dad’s Club in all aspects. Dusty’s occupation: Artist (painting, ceramics, creating works of art inspired by nature, God’s beautiful gifts such as the sunrise, sunset, hummingbirds, the beach and ocean, picking up treasures off the beach early in the morning such as seashells, all of God’s creatures). She also had a successful Ebay site selling mainly estate and vintage jewelry among other treasures. Involved in local antique shops, she loved sharing her finds from estate sales, flea markets, etc. She loved her family, other people, her dogs, fishing, anything to do with water, puppies, children, butterflies, birds, and she always had peanuts in her pockets ready to feed the squirrels. Dusty was the epitome of beauty inside and out. When Dusty walked into the room, you could feel the love and genuine smile she had for everyone. She lived by the golden rules – she was nice to everyone. Dusty was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her spouse, Cecil A. Bickford and son, Robert W. Bickford, both of Pearland, Texas; sisters, Linda Hart, Joanne Serres, Pat Ladley, and Judy Guillory and their families; and numerous loving family members and friends. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011, 10:00 AM at Clayton Funeral Home.
