Darlene Agnes Rivera, 93, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023. She is preceded in death by her father George Ackles; mother Margaret Ackles Aberle; and son Raymond Rivera. Left to cherish her memory are her sons David Rivera and wife, Patricia, George Rivera and wife, Terry; daughters Deborah Zavala, Patricia Guerra and husband, Samuel; daughter-in-law Annette Rivera; Fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren, and a host of many other family and friends.

Darlene was born in Falls County, Texas and graduated from Sacred Heart School in Houston, Texas. She was married to Ramiro Rivera and raised their five children. Darlene was a hard worker and good provider who had many jobs over her lifetime including, Lack’s Department Store, Rodney’s in the Village, PBX operator at Southwestern Bell, Bank of Houston, South Main Bank, and Best Western in Pearland. She was involved in Cub Scouts, PTA, PBX Club of Houston, Primetime Seniors, and was also precinct chairman in several elections. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading the newspaper daily, reading books, collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia, talking about history, and most of all she loved chocolate. Darlene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Darlene will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am, at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm, at St. Helen Catholic Church, in Pearland, Texas, with Father Luis Garcia officiating.
