Obituary of Collin Eugene Smith

Please share a memory of Collin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Collin Eugene Smith passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, at the age of 15. When we think of Collin, we remember the amazing and overflowing love that he would show to those around him. This mamma's boy had a loyal heart, as big as Texas, and his compassion and empathy for others could be seen in his daily interactions. He was an amazing listener who loved old country, black coffee, and sunrises. An old soul with a sensitive heart, who never met a stranger.  He was goofy, life of the party and was a beacon of light to his generation.

Collin had grit, was willing to try anything, and would never back down from a challenge. He was a warrior, not scared to walk his own path, to be different and to stand in the gap for what was right. He was strong in his faith, loved God and was striving every day to be a better man. Collin had big plans to be a top tier welder, recently accepted on the competition welding team at Pearland HS and had dreams of having a truck rig and welding on the pipeline.  His recent passion for team roping led him to spend many hours after school practicing with his close friends.  He had learned how to ride a horse and was excited about the chance to take his roping to the next level. He truly found his freedom in dancing, roping, and riding!

Family meant everything to Collin. You could always find him surrounded by loving friends or family, especially on the front porch, in a mudding hole or next to a bonfire! Collin loved hugs and always took the chance to encourage someone when they were down.

Collin is preceded in death by his grandfather, (Popsie) Charles Smith, and grandmother, Rita E. Traylor. He will be sorely missed and is survived by his dad, Charles E Smith, mom, Shawn T Meyer, sister, Lauren A Smith, step dad, Brad Meyer and step sisters Taylor and Brooke Meyer. Also, his grandparents (Papaw) Keith Traylor, (Nonnie) Vicki Traylor, (Granny) Iris Smith, (Grandpa) John Miller, (Grandma) Cheryl Miller, Mimi (Barbara Meyer), Papa (Malon Meyer), and Mamaw (Kathy Meyer); and a host of aunts, uncles, and too many other close friends and family to list.

Collin, we love you and the impact you had on everyone you encountered. The memories will never fade. Your love for life and infectious smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved you!
