Obituary of Douglas Oneal White

Douglas Oneal White, 61, passed away on May 1, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Minnie Basey; brothers, Marion Basey Jr. and Rickey Basey; and grandchild, Avery Jordan. Douglas is survived by his son, Douglas White; daughters, Patricia Annettte Nellums and her husband, Danyel, Denethra Lashal Proctor and her husband, Michael, Nasha Oneal Jordan and her husband, Marcus, Treva Ndiaye and her husband, Serigne, Shuron Hamilton; brother, James Basey, Kenneth Basey and his wife, Tonya; sisters, Delores Mosley and her husband, Rhandle, Joyce Washington, Mary House, Ethel Berry, Sandra Washington and Brenda Basey; grandchildren, Jarvis Robinson, Te’Kera Hamilton, Michael Turner, Treveon Hamilton, Jacobey Callis, De’Jaria Cross, Dequan Cross, Taylor Jordan; great grandchildren, Brayland Whitehead and Aniya Nichols; his companion, Sherry Garrett; as well as many other family and friends. Douglas work for 11 years for Brinks Security. He loved playing dominos with his family and friends. Douglas enjoyed music, riding in the car and loved to travel. He also enjoyed visiting the casinos on occasion. Most of all, Douglas loved his family and spending time with all of them. He was affectionately known as “Papa” to his grandchildren. Douglas will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. A Memorial Service for Douglas will be on Saturday, May 7 at 11:00 am at Clayton Funeral Home at 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581 with Pastor Ira Singleton of Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church officiating. A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:30 am at Houston National Cemetery at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
