Obituary of Saul Edward Pontifes
Saul Edward Pontifes was born in Houston Texas, at Parkway Hospital on Saturday September 10, 1988, to Saul and Mariam Pontifes. He was 2 years older than his brother Ryan, 4 years older than his brother Christopher, and 7 years older than his youngest brother Matthew.
The family were members of the Catholic Charismatic Center when they moved to Pearland in the Spring of 1993, Saulito (Little Saul as he was known by most) was 5 years old at that time. The family became members of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pearland Texas. Saulito attended Pearland schools, the University of Houston and San Jacinto College. He was in the process of pursuing his Real Estate License before his passing.
At an early age Saulito was a member of the Houston Children's Choir and was active in swimming and soccer at Vic Coppinger Family YMCA. While attending Challenger Elementary he joined Cub Scouts and became a charter member of Pack 414. He also became a charter member of Troop 414 and later held a dual membership in Troop 483 and Troop 404. On April 3, 2003, he earned his rank as an Eagle Scout and completed his scouting experience with Venture Crew 404.
Saul had the strongest will of any person you could ever meet. He had an eye and talent for interior design, so he was sought after by various companies and private customers especially in the Downtown Houston and Galleria areas. His best customer was his mom with a 100% off discount.
Saul was a very direct and straight forward person. He loved to make others laugh and loved to shake hands and hug people all at the same time. He loved to play loud music in his earbuds and in his car. Because of this you could hear him arriving from afar. Saul loved to dress up even to the gym where he spent most of his time saying hello to his friends.
Most important he loved God and accepted him in his life through holy water in his baptism, later in his confirmation and communion at this church. Saul loved his three younger brothers to the moon and back. The Munoz family here today became his second family and was bonded with the name "MunPon". His mom was his best friend and shopping buddy, and he called her "Gordis" and pinched every part of her that he could. Both of them would hide bags of their shopping sprees in the car so as to not get in trouble at home until they got busted. Mariam was his rock and his shield, second to God. He loved his daddy and called him "Pappas Fritas" (french fries) to make him mad. He loved his dog Pipper and kissed and danced with her in the kitchen all the time.
